Achievements

A number of significant achievements have been registered this financial year 2010/2011. These include:

• Regular supply of drugs from National Medical Stores
• Continuous quality improvement through meetings and more staff participation
• Improved cleanliness and general hospital environment:
• Paediatric ART clinic and Adult ART clinics conducted on daily basis on working days
• Separation of water and electricity for CDC

Major constraints 2010/11

1. Inadequate number of trained health workers especially doctors, nurses, dispensers, radiographers, lab technologists, mainly due to poor condition of service. There is need for flexibility in the staffing norms to meet the increased levels and scope of services being offered
2. Lack of transport for effective administrative functions and PHC outreach activities
3. Lack of adequate staff accommodation especially for doctors
4. Delay in procurement of services for civil maintenance and maintenance of medical equipment
