Tororo General Hospital has capacity of 200 beds. The hospital is located in the Eastern Division of Tororo Municipality. Together with St. Anthony’s Hospital, the hospital provides referral services to Tororo district, parts of the districts of Manafwa, Busia and part of western Kenya. The estimated catchment population is about 500,000 persons.

The Hospital is served by good infrastructure including access roads, telecommunication services, electricity and reliable National water supply. Historically the hospital was constructed as early as the 1930’s to serve as a Military stopover for the soldiers en route to the middle- East during the 1st World war. The hospital infrastructure has greatly improved. Most of the buildings have been renovated with the assistance from the Government of Uganda and the Japanese Government through JICA. Through the same assistance a new Out Patient Department (OPD), Female Ward, Theatre and Labour suite were constructed. The old OPD was rehabilitated by the Ministry of Health to serve as the new Administration Block.

As a General hospital, Tororo hospital provides a comprehensive system of care which includes curative, preventive, promotive and rehabilitative health care services. These services include:
